Keeling has made a living from his art all his adult life. His somewhat quirky images range from old warehouses and The Globe Theatre to swimmers and male and female nudes. The artist has many ties to theatre and some of his paintings are inspired by the characters in the plays he has enjoyed and his large circle of thespian friends. His wife is a keen gardener and this has recently inspired some exciting new garden scenes and landscapes.
These canvases range in size from a few square inches up to over four feet. His angular reflections of old mills and characters would be appropriate for the Boardroom and reception areas of a business involved in the manufacturing industry. Keeling is a strong swimmer and loves to paint pools and people splashing about in the water! Several of these paintings could be perfect for a Health Center, Gym, or any company with leisure related activities.
They are wonderfully bold and vibrant and unusually visually compelling. Keeling possesses a joyful sence of humour and unique eye for finding the unusual in the familiar!
Keeling's November '98 one-man exhibition at Le Mur Vivant was an enormous success. Many of his paintings were sold to British film producers, actors and television personalities. One of the first paintings to sell was a large canvas depicting The Globe Theatre.
Such was the demand to see this exhibition that the gallery stayed open late every night and throughout Saturday and Sunday! A small selection of new paintings will be available throughout the year.
